Vlog #2 Pinterest & Building your Aesthetic

For those of you who want to be amused, you can watch the progress of my hair band sliding off my head.  Or, why I usually wear a clip as a cover and not a cloth anything – my hair is slippery!!!

But seriously, hopefully you find this helpful in building an aesthetic.  And I’m going to keep working on figuring out how to vlog.  Onward!

Something I do when building art ideas, references or playlists is I pick 5 or 10 items every time, then I pick only one out of that group. This way it narrows my choices down gradually and makes me choosier about my artistic influences. I suppose the same thing would work on a Pinterest style board. 🙂

Then again, I still end up with drawings I can’t finish because my mood changes or playlists I never reuse. :/

Love the new setting, by the way! Your house is so blue. I’m a bit jealous, only my classroom is blue.

Thank you! My husband is endlessly willing to repaint – his mom was the patron saint of interior decorating from the bones out, so I am able to have whimsical colors. This was shot in the patio/sewing room, which we just finished painting a month or so ago. I owe you guys a tour of my sewing room, it’s just the rest of it is rarely tidy enough to want to photograph. (It’s an enclosed patio, and it’s also the pantry, the place I keep pet stuff, random storage, mudroom, etc). Let’s just say it’s a functional place, not a twee and nicely decorated one.

That’s a cool button, isn’t it? Hey, have you ever surfed through my pinboards – not the one for you but the others? The one I’m talking about here is “images that tell you about me”.
